Liverpool manager Slot has given a realistic update on striker Alexander Isak, warning fans not to set expectations too high immediately upon his return.
“Remember Isak has been out for 3½ months and not trained with the team for 3½ months,” Slot said.
He added: “The last time he did that, it took him a while to get up to speed. I am really, really looking forward to having him back but don’t get the expectations again so high that the minute he is on the pitch, he is at the level of what we spent that money on.”
Slot’s comments underline the club’s cautious approach, emphasizing patience as Isak regains match fitness and adapts back to full competition.
